Modern contemporary recessed handle kitchen with simple lines, made from engineered board with a durable paint finish. Bespoke design and hand-made in a new build property for a young family.
Galway, County Galway, Ireland
The kitchen has a simple frameless construction with a recessed handle lay-on door design, and is spray-painted in a durable heat and scratch resistant polyurethane finish.
The lay-on doors are made from a high density engineered board, with machined handle scoops, and mounted on Blum soft-close self-closing hinges.
Legrabox drawer boxes are mounted on smooth, self-closing runners, with spray painted HDF painted drawer fronts and machine-scooped handles.
The client's existing appliances were integrated into the new design, and a simple canopy with ducted extractor and integrated lighting was designed to work above the traditional range cooker.
The main feature of the kitchen is a large pantry area with open shelves, drawers, built-in oven and incorporated fridge freezer.
When in use, the pantry bifold doors can be opened with the sliding fold-away door system, and can completely hidden from view behind handleless panels.
Above the main cabinets, additional storage areas were created to fill the available space, and extended to be flush with high ceiling of the large kitchen.
The kitchen work surfaces were finished in a bronze polished concrete, wet-cast in-situ and finished by specialist contractors after the main body of the kitchen was installed.
The long, central galley island has a bronze polished concrete work surface, a wet-cast sink and a cut in drainer with monoblock mixer and boiling water tap.
The island features a separate waste disposal and built in electrical outlets. Legrabox drawer boxes are mounted on smooth, self-closing runners for additional storage, and also feature a built-in wine rack.
