Contemporary bespoke solid wood Irish Elm peninsula kitchen in a new build property. Specific requirements included the use of Elm, custom designed curved doors and a handcrafted curved peninsula that the clients were unable to source from other suppliers.

The kitchen has a handmade in-frame construction, rounded pillars for a softer look, Birch plywood carcasses and a stepped profile cornice. The 30mm thick solid Elm doors are flush fitted with no bead and are mounted on stainless steel butt hinges. The dovetailed drawer boxes are solid Ash on secret soft-close runners with brushed nickel curved handles with a leather insert grip, and fitted with a threaded peg-board organiser system and a custom handmade cutlery tray insert.
The work surfaces are Shivakashi Brown granite with a 6 inch splashback upstand, above a Suter Profi Star under-mounted stainless steel sink bowl with Perrin & Rowe Titan fittings. The peninsula features 12 layer laminated Elm curved doors and a 40mm solid ash curved worktop ending in a round chopping block style work surface and finished in a spray-on heat-resistant lacquer.
The appliances were bought based on the Handcraft design and included a built-in coffee machine, double oven, induction hob and integrated dish washer. Additional features include a walk-in pantry clad in Birch plywood and edged in Elm, curved plinths with LED kickboard light details, and a bespoke curved display shelf with polished toughened glass shelves and custom turned stainless steel shelf supports.
